2026, Yet, Still, Summer Residency in Pitted Dates with Else-collective, Helsinki, FI
it hasn’t happened... something continues anyway. Caught in between what hasn’t arrived and what refuses to leave.
Yet, Still, was a Summer Residency/Exhibition, that showed six artists progressing works, revealing processes and fixed outcomes simultaneously. The works shifted, accumulated, and found new forms, tracing themes of waiting, in-betweenness, and becoming, waiting for something that might already be here.
Pilers was work that formed sculptural compositions around white standing electric pillars. During the summer residency, concrete was cast into various accumulating forms around the pillars, gradually stacking the structures over time. The process itself will was presented as part of the installation, incorporating objects such as packaging materials, paddings and clothing used during the working, into the concrete casts or installed otherways with the pillars.
The work was supported by Greta och Alfred Runebergs Stiftelse. The exhibition and event was supported by Arts Promotion Centre Finland and Finnish Cultural Foundation.
